Heart of Sailing will host Summer Sailstice Sail-a-thon on June 23, 2007 to benefit our sailing programs for special needs chilren

The Sail-a-thon is an international event to benefit Heart of Sailing’s Daysail program, enabling special needs children and their families to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of sailing at no cost. Sail-a-thon is held in conjunction with Summer Sailstice, a global sailing holiday, with events in more than 10 regions across the U.S., Canada and Europe including sailing excursions, boat parties, beach picnics, and cookouts, as well as door prizes and awards for fundraising.
Advance registration is required. Forms will be available on the website. There is no fee for general registration and all participants will receive a commemorative button. However, participants who register or raise pledges will receive incentives as described below.

All Participants will report to the designated Fleet Admiral, who is the representative coordinating the event. Participants without a sailboat may participate in one of the following ways:
- Register as a Crewmember – the Fleet Admiral will match you with a registered boat in your region;
- Register as a “Landlubber.” Although you won’t be sailing, you will still be able to establish fundraising goals and participate in the cookout and events;
- Sponsor a crew or individual Sailor.
Participants are encouraged to register as “crews” and choose a crew name for the event. Prizes will be awarded in each region for the crew and the individual with the highest fundraising totals.
