Dave is a highly accomplished sailor who began his sailing journey more than 60 years ago. He began sailing at a very early age in the many waters on and around Long Island, New York. As an astronautical engineer working in the Air Force and NASA space programs, he and his family moved to the Houston area almost 40 years ago. Dave and his best friend Margie, wife of 44 years, are the proud parents of three children and 6 grandchildren.
A licensed captain as well as a trans-Atlantic sailor, Dave is the owner of the Blue Marlin Sailing School which provides sailing lessons as well as conducts charters in Galveston Bay & the Gulf of Mexico; he also charters in numerous exotic spots of the Caribbean.
Dave is elated with the opportunity to contribute his knowledge, skills and resources to promote the Heart of Sailing’s mission for our special needs children.
